All of the marine light fixtures that we offer for sale are composed of glass and copper based metals. The table lamps also include the wood mahogany in their construction. The non-table light fixture with a switch has 21 parts, 16 of these are metal. The metal parts are either made from brass or bronze. The guards are made of high impact resistant bronze, while the metal receptacle it screws into is made of brass. Therefore the descriptions of brass or bronze are used interchangeably throughout this web site. Both of the copper based metals buff to a similar high luster. The bulkhead (wall) light fixtures with guards, can be installed on walls of course, or ordered assembled to a mahogany base suitable for use as a table lamp. Berth (bunk) style light fixtures can also be ordered in the same way. Berth lights do not have the bronze guards that the bulkhead fixtures have. Berth lights instead, have brass shades that can be adjusted for glare reduction when reading. Overhead (ceiling) light fixtures are best used on ceilings or the entrance door roof underside. Overhead lights are not suitable for use as table lamps. The metal surface of each light fixture is burnished to a high luster. Even when this light is not turned on, its surface shines with a warm golden glow from any other illumination source. The standard light fixture styles are described in the "Specifications" page. Please review the "Option" page for any non-standard features that you might choose. When you decide upon the item you want, click on the "How To Order" page to order your choices.
