Options

After reading the following list of the options available, you may become confused as how to order the item your interested in. Here are some hints. If you want to install a switchable light in an exterior position, order the waterproof switch feature. If you want more illumination, order a longer glass globe. For instance, the 7” globe will allow up to 100-watt bulb use, (click on “Specifications” to see wattage ratings). If the light does not need a local switch, order the less expensive remote switch style. In short, think about how you would like to use the light to guide your order. These fixtures were originally designed for maximum parts interchangeability to allow for any style configuration. This flexibility made life much easier at the building and maintenance shipyards, (and easier for us to reconfigure if needed). For complete specifications on these lights, click on “Specifications”. Some of these lights and their spare parts were removed from the tugboat “Patrick J. McHugh”, prior to its’ deliberate sinking off the coast of New Jersey. The tug is now an artificial reef providing needed sanctuary for sea life. For a more comprehensive description about the history of this and other vessels, visit the Tugboat page.
